the inability to remember a word or put your finger on the right word. I seem to experience this a lot, but not only with words. I experience it with goals. I will make sooo many great, awesome, fabulous, astoundingly worthy goal and I

forget
I forget things all the time. Some of it is on purpose. A lot of it is because I have a habit of focusing solely on one thing.
For example, one day last year Mr Dubbs handed out a piece. It was called Silverado. It was hard. It was difficult to even look at. It was a challenge. At first, I was stoutly against Silverado. I honestly thought it was a waste of time. I was annoyed that I kept being told to play it. Finally one day though, I went home and listened to the recording....
and I was in love
Love love love. I have a very specific way I get good at music. I listen to the music many, many times, and then I attempt to play it.
That week alone I listened to it at least six hours a day, and practiced upwards of 14 hours. I had a couple English papers, some WHAP, math math math, other band music, friends, family....but I didn't care. I had to learn Silverado. It was my sole focus. And I am very good at Silverado, even today, months later.
So what I'm saying is, I can do things that I set out to do, it's just that I hardly stay motivated enough for virtually anyone to see this happen. And thinking about it, a lot of the stuff I actually keep up from start to finish are band things, or maybe just flute things. My flute is perhaps one of the best things that has ever happened to me dedication-wise.
So I want to be good at other things. And here is my list....
- River Flows in You by Yurima
- Fur Elise
- Making hair clips with flowers and such
- Decorating cupcakes
- Hair. I want to be able to curl, crimp, straighten, put up, let down, pin, twist, braid, fish tail, whatever. I want to do it all
- Color. Like in a coloring book. I want to get better at it. Some people just make these breath-taking works of art in coloring pages and I just needdd to be able to do so also
I hope that I will stay motivated this time. I WILL.
